DesktopVisionMCP captures your screens. That deserves a plain answer rather than a careful one, so here is where every image goes.
Where your screenshots go
When your assistant asks for a screenshot, the app captures your displays and hands the image straight back to that assistant, through the connection you configured. Nothing is written to disk after the handoff, and nothing is sent to Karma Digital. We never see your screen. There is no server of ours in the path.
The assistant is the destination, and you chose it. If you connected an assistant that runs locally on your Mac, the image never leaves the machine. If you connected one that runs in the cloud, the image travels to that provider exactly as any other message you send it does, and their privacy policy governs what happens next. We have no visibility into it and no control over it.
Nothing is captured unless the assistant asks. There is no polling, no continuous recording, and no capture while serving is switched off from the menu.
What stays on your Mac
The permission grant, your serving on/off preference, and your cached license stay local. macOS itself controls Screen Recording access, and you can revoke it at any time in System Settings, Privacy & Security, Screen Recording.
What leaves your Mac
The app makes two network requests during normal use, neither carrying image data:
- License validation. On first activation, DesktopVisionMCP sends your transaction ID to confirm the purchase. Paddle is the merchant of record; their privacy policy is at paddle.com/legal/privacy. The license is then cached locally and the app works offline.
- Update check. The app periodically asks
releases.desktopvisionmcp.comfor an update manifest, served by Cloudflare R2. The request reveals your IP address and the current app version to Cloudflare. No identifier is attached. Sparkle, the framework we use, is open source.
There is no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporter, no usage tracker. If we ever add one, it will be opt-in and announced here first.
This website
desktopvisionmcp.com is a static site on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes request logs, including IP addresses, to serve and protect it. We run no analytics and set no tracking cookies. The checkout is served by Paddle and is subject to their privacy policy.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. In practice what we hold is a purchase record at Paddle and any email you have sent us.
